WW returns July 9th–12th! Pre‑registration has closed, but fear not — day‑of attendees are absolutely welcome. We’ve reserved plenty of prime space for those who didn’t pre-register, and our gate crew is gearing up for a lively Thursday morning through Saturday mid-day. Reminder: Gate hours are 9am-7pm. If you arrive outside those hours, come back the next day to check in.
Want to come a day early? Pre‑reg or not, with our new volunteer system, five hours of volunteering earns you Wednesday early entry. Wondering what’s happening this year? The schedules are published and packed from morning to night. You may still see a few additions here and there, but with the deadline for inclusion in “the book” looming, if you were thinking of adding something, now is the moment to submit. And if your schedule is set — take a peek at the volunteer opportunities and lend a hand.
This week, the WW staff are all busy bees. Land is finalizing maps that will be sent out soon, and our next staff meeting is focused on heat safety. WW is known for many things — including heat — so as we prepare our safety protocols, please take some time over the next few weeks to acclimate to summer weather. This year, same as last, we’ll be using the U.S. Military heat index system to advise area leads of conditions. Each area will manage its own breaks and pacing, but you are in charge of you — hydrate, rest, and know your limits.
Since we have the chance today to speak directly to the archery‑inclined among us, your schedule this year is on target. Aoife started so early we had to add hours to the schedule tool, and the lineup is full to the brim — including the popular Agincourt Challenge, Saturday 1–2:30 . If you see horses on the range, don’t worry — they’re not lost, they’re there to test your speed! Aoife also promises “merriment and fun” each afternoon, and she still refuses to tell us what that means. And last but not least: she has figured out how to run a Clout Shoot in our arena — no small feat, and we’re thrilled she made it work.
