*Volunteer Incentives New This Year*
Have you ever wanted to come setup on Wednesday? Now you can with early entry for volunteers who sign up for 5 credits of service!
In the volunteer site, each task is given a credit value. One hour of service will equal one credit. When you sign up for 5 (Five) credits you will receive an email to the associated address inviting you to come on Wednesday of WW week. This is an option and not mandatory. Please accept or decline the invite when you receive it, so we know who to expect. The volunteer shifts can be any time in the event to count, we tried to be fair and inclusive with credits but as a first year, we are happy for feedback.
The best part, you can earn credits for others as well! If you have someone in your camp who you would like to earn credits for so that they can take advantage of the early entry, you certainly can! You can either gift your credits to someone else if you do not wish to come early, or you can even earn additional credits that you can gift to someone in your camp. (To keep things simple, please only earn credits for your camp/group.)
FAQ
– 1 hour of volunteering equals one credit. We apologize for any confusion around this! There are always glitches when setting up a new system.
– Kids are welcome if the driving adult is eligible for early access.
– If you are the driver for another adult, encourage them to sign up for a few shifts for early access, too.
– There are both specific tasks and general help during a time frame options depending on how independent you feel, instructions will be available for all independent tasks.
– If there is an extenuating circumstance, please email us.
– People NOT on the early entry should not arrive on Wednesday. This includes land agents. In our discussions with people in forming this program, most land agents already volunteer so we are hopeful this is not too big a change.
– Yes, we do know this isn’t totally *new* more like a refresh on the early access system that was in place pre Covid/pre site move but as generations in the SCA are quick, too many people were unaware of the option and in the name of equity, we moved to this more visible and accessible system.
